Love for The Great Outdoors!

I love, love, love a great outdoor space! Especially during this time of year when the weather is not too hot, the sun is shining and we have a nice breeze…. Oh yeah! So, naturally, I went looking for some outdoor area design ideas! Here’s what I found...

I love all the color here! And, it’s pretty simple. 2 chairs and an ottoman. Lovely.

Even if you don’t have a lot of space, you can still make it fabulous!

Don’t have a covered outdoor area? Make one out of a storage shed! Brilliant.

One day I will have an outdoor area this amazing! Cushy loungers in the grass with a giant movie screen! YES!

Basalt Fiber Furniture by Raimonds Cirulis!!

These handmade Basalt Fiber furniture pieces by Raimonds Cirulis (for Maffam Freefrom) are quite beautiful and very unique. Raimonds is the first person to ever use basalt fiber to make furniture. The material is extremely durable and soaks up all kinds of harmful rays (UV, radio, radiation).

Fabulous London Home!

I found this house while browsing freshome today. I love the clean design and easy furniture pieces. Plus they seem to have a thing for alternating the colors of the chairs. Interesting. And the backyard is FANTASTIC!

This HUGE opening to the backyard is awesome!!!

The dining area is so lovely. Such simple furniture and I love how they alternate the chairs with clear and white. And their little office area is tucked neatly in the corner.
(they used the Victoria Ghost Chair… which we have)

I love the hanging chair. The sofas are simple and again, they alternate colors.
(sofa is similar to our Cynthia Sofa)

The dining room complete with a well stocked bar! And, more color alternating!!
(dining chairs are similar to our Lauren Side Chair)

The kitchen is so white and bright! I love it!

There’s a peek of the fabu backyard.

So in love! The pool is gorgeous, all the lush greenery and they have so much seating! LOVE!
(table is just like our Turtle Table Set)

It’s such a great outdoor space for entertaining!

Old Treasures With New Pleasures!

I always wonder how people use antique pieces in their home. Finally, I have found some photos on Miss Design‘s blog that really exemplify how one should display these antiques. It’s a really great inspiration to be able to look at how someone created something that may have been useless and now it’s very useful to them. Looking at the photos below, it is like playing an eye spy antique’s game that is extremely entertaining.

Those chairs look amazing in all that greenery!

I didn’t notice the door at first, but I’m surely glad I did.

Cool burlap cool pillows. High Fashion Home sells similar pillows.

Look at that column, love it!

In this room they did a great job mixing in the new with the old.

Love the way they reused an old door as molding or just a piece to finish off the dining.

A charming bench for the bedroom is a great touch!

Getting Ready For The Summer?

Summer is finally here and it’s time to shed those layers! During this time of year you will be spending more time outdoors and enjoying everything that summer brings, such as beautiful bright colors and of course awesome outdoor furniture. Be sure to keep yourself cool from all the hot products that High Fashion Home has for your summer needs. A cute pink tank, some towels to dry off, and amazing outdoor furniture is what will set your summer off right.

>70’s Style Home in Palm Springs

>This house wonderful! I love the openness of it. I found it today while checking out Elle Decor. The home belongs to graphic designer, Jeffery Kerns. Mr. Kerns did the decorating himself and states in the Elle Decor interview that he designs his rooms around the artwork on the walls. I think this is a different approach than what most people do but his rooms look great so maybe he’s on to something. Enjoy! : )

 A view of the 70’s ranch-style home.

I love how colorful and fun the living room is! Artwork is by Richard Serra and Sean Duffy. The Great Dane is a nice touch too. : )

The kitchen is incredible! It’s so open and clean. I LOVE the cooktop island.

Again, very open and all the glass lets in so much light.

Love the huge Lolita print. Don’t be afraid of big artwork.

I adore this boat tub by Wieki Somers! It’s so different and fun.

A great outdoor space is so important to me so naturally I love this one.

Let’s Go To The Country

I just adore this modern country house (thank you Elle Decor for featuring it). The scenery surrounding it is breathtaking and the house is so wonderful. It belongs to architect Steven Harris and interior designer Lucien Rees Roberts. They decided to set their weekend retreat on 50 acres of land between the Catskills and the Berkshires; so incredible. Enjoy. : )

This is a picture of their driveway. Amazing!!

 The croquet lawn. : )

I like the different styles and shapes of furniture.

I love the stairs. Just pop up in the middle of the room.

Fantastic kitchen with a lovely view!

Glass pocket doors open to reveal this dining area.

The terrace is so beautiful. That’s an apple tree and creeping thyme was also planted.

 A view of the studio.

Another amazing view of the great outdoors from the bedroom. Love!

Ending with my favorite. I LOVE a wonderful outdoor spot and this is so perfect!!
