In celebration of the human spirit, High Fashion Home is donating 10% of today’s online sales to Pencils of Promise. I was fortunate enough to hear Adam Braun speak two years ago at a conference. Adam told his life changing story about visiting India in 2008. There he met a young boy begging on the streets of India. Adam asked the boy what he wanted most in the world, and he replied “a pencil.”
That moment inspired Adam to start his own organization, Pencils of Promise. Pencils of Promise is a non-profit dedicated to building schools and increasing education opportunities in the developing world. Since it’s inception, Pencils of Promise has built over 250 schools. In March 2014, Adam Braun released his book “The Promise of a Pencil: How an Ordinary Person Can Create Extraordinary Change“. The book debuted at #2 on the New York Times Bestseller list.
So on December 8th, 2014, our High Fashion Home team would be honored and humbled if you join the cause to give the gift of opportunity. In the spirit of giving, when you find the perfect gift shopping at HighFashionHome.com, 10% of your purchase will go to Pencils of Promise. I love Adam Braun’s simple, beautiful message of hope. We all should start believing that ordinary people can create extraordinary change!
