Country French!!

The home of Mathilde Labrouche in Southwest France is fabulous. It’s old, it has unfinished paint, beautiful stone and hardwood flooring, it looks it could fall apart at any minute (even though it’s won’t)… even some of the furniture looks that way (but it’s not) and I love it all!

The ram’s head sculpture makes quite a statement.

I mean, this could be a painting!

The turquoise doors add a nice pop of color.

Mathilde designed the bed to the right.

Google’s New Tel Aviv Office!!!

Holy cow! If this is an office building, what the heck do the rest of us work in?! Google recently unveiled their new office space in Tel Aviv, Israel and WOW! 85,000 square feet (7 floors) of unique and inspirational work space. Nothing about this office looks conventional (well, except for the actual cubicle area). Color is around every corner, there are so many fabulous prints everywhere, an over-sized surf board conference table, a gym and a slide… even a sitting area that looks like the outdoors! Google, I already knew that you were awesome but this just raised my level of respect for you. AMAZING!

Fabulous Floors!!

They just lay there and let us walk all over them! Yes, I’m talking about floors. Very often floors are just left plain but why not jazz them up?! Here are some pics of truly incredible floors.

I love all the color in this room! And I adore the pinky chevron floor!!

White Light

If the selection, placement, and combination of objects underlay the art of interior design, then Marie Olsson Nylander’s waterfront haven is its ideal iteration. A bright, clean, and white palette forms the playful backdrop or carte blanche to subsequent bursts of color, from turquoise to shades of orange. Combine this with ingenious configurations—humble, modern Eames chairs situated beneath an overwrought and sizable table, lit by an overarching floor lamp (in lieu of the traditional chandelier)—and you have access to the flowering of an overactive imagination.

Million Dollar Decorators Obsession!

I recently caught the new series on Bravo TV called Million Dollar Decorators and I’m obsessed. They have chosen many talented decorators that I’m thrilled to see. One of my favorites is Mary McDonald who, in a past episode, designed an amazing office for Jill Roberts (a boutique owner in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica, CA). It was amazing how she combined so many patterns and they all worked beautifully together. I absolutely loved it and now it’s given me the inspiration to create a room with different textiles and patterns. Every week I can’t wait for Tuesday night at 9 p.m. CST to watch what stunning designs will inspire me next!

Beautiful color scheme. The floors are to die for!

Look at that patent leather chair it’s crazy, but amazing all at the same time!

Chevron Design

I was inspired to do this blog post by my friends curtains. I was at her house the other day (the cutest house I might add) and she had recently put up some green and white chevron (zig-zag) patterned curtains in her dining room. They looked amazing! They added a great pop of color to the room and the chevron pattern is eye catching but not overpowering AND she made them herself from some super marked down sheets she found. Win, win. So, her curtains got me looking around for more chevron design ideas. Enjoy.

I love this look because it is so bold!

The design on the floor is very complimentary to the space.

A beautiful all white bathroom with a floor that kicks it up a notch!

If you don’t want to paint the whole floor, how about this DIY rug from SAS Interiors?

This wall looks incredible and it’s DIY!!

Another view of the sofa. It works so well in the room and jazzes it up.
