Exposed Ceiling Beams

I have long loved the look of exposed, wooden ceiling beams. Whether the ceiling is vaulted or straight, painted or natural wood (I do prefer the look of natural wood), exposed beams are a great visual addition to a space. You can even fake, exposed beams by installing natural wood on top of your existing beams. Here are some shots I found inspiring.

California Home of Shawn Levy

You may not be familiar with Shawn Levy by just his name (or maybe you are) but I bet you’ve seen some of the movies he’s been behind. Producer of movies like Night at the Museum, Date Night and recently, The Internship, Shawn Levy is all over Hollywood. Shawn’s Mandeville Canyon home (designed by the supremely talented, Windsor Smith) is simple, elegant and beautiful. Their bedroom is fabulous.

Captivating in California!!

With incredible views of the Pacific, beautiful natural design and an all around comfy sophistication, this California home is close to perfect! I love all of the exposed, natural wood and stonework mixed with great furniture pieces….. Did I mention the view?? 🙂
