Ashley Goforth Design

I feel very fortunate to be in a position where praising, bragging on and featuring so many supremely talented interior designers is just a great part of the job. Ashley Goforth is one of those super talented interior designers and she happens to be right here in Houston! Ashley’s designs are sophisticated, crisp and classic. Using large scale pieces, textures, prints and simple designs, Ashley gives each space a cozy and refined look. Well done, Houston gal!

Ashley Whittaker Design

Last July, we featured a fantastic Manhattan penthouse made beautiful by the uber talented, Ashley Whittaker. I can’t BELIEVE it has taken me this long to feature Ashley Whittaker herself! Love, love, love her designs so much. Some of her spaces are soft and subtle while others are bold and colorful but ALL of them are fabulously detailed and unique. LOVE!!

An English Barn by the River Stour

Not everyone would have looked at a run down barn in Suffolk, England and seen their future home but that’s exactly what Zara Chancellor and Charles McIntyre saw when they found the old farmhouse. Situated near the River Stour, the surrounding landscape was already gorgeous and boasted spectacular vegetation and views; it was making the farmhouse a home that was the tricky part. Enlisting the help of Katherine Woollacott and Patrick Gilmartin made the transformation possible and gave Zara and Charles the family barn home they envisioned. Gorgeous work!

Love For Nailhead Details!!

I don’t know if it’s the contrast of hard on soft or the mix of metal on fabric or wood but I love nailhead embellishments!! I recently bought a little brown leather storage ottoman with a nailhead design covering it and every time I look at it, it makes me happy. Love, love, love the look of nailhead details!! What do you think?

Making The World a Better Home: Happy Earth Day!

Approximately 4 million trees were lost in the destructive Texas wildfire in 2011. A massive collaborative effort is being undertaken by the Arbor Day Foundation, Texas A&M Forest Service, and Texas Parks & Wildlife. They launched the Texas Lost Pines Forest Recovery Campaign to restore and plant trees in Central Texas over the next 5 years.

Since 2008,  High Fashion Home and Arbor Day Foundation have made a commitment to plant one tree for every piece of furniture purchased at High Fashion Home. Thanks to all of our wonderful customers, over 44,000 trees have been planted towards the Lost Pines Forest Recovery Campaign. High Fashion Home might be just one store. But when working together with great people and incredible organizations, we can start making a difference.

As of March 31, 2014, High Fashion Home and the Arbor Day Foundation have committed to planting 70,031 trees around the world.
